Our Services

Support. Structure. Safety. Success.

Thrive offers a flexible, therapeutic education setting for children and young people aged 4 to 16 who are struggling in mainstream education. We help learners reconnect with school, build resilience, and develop the skills they need to succeed — both academically and emotionally.

Academic Interventions

We assess each pupil’s literacy and numeracy skills when they join Thrive Learning Centre, using baseline assessments to identify their strengths, learning gaps and individual starting points.

Support may include:

* Targeted reading, phonics, spelling and comprehension interventions

* Personalised numeracy support based on each pupil’s current level of understanding

* One-to-one and small-group teaching

* Practical, multisensory and engaging learning activities

* Regular monitoring to measure progress and adjust support where needed

Teaching is adapted to each pupil’s pace, needs and preferred way of learning. Our aim is not only to address gaps in knowledge and skills, but also to rebuild confidence, develop independence and help every pupil experience success in the classroom.

Therapeutic and SEMH Support

We specialise in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This includes:

  • Zones of Regulation and individualised calming plans

  • Emotion coaching and restorative conversations

  • Access to a sensory room and low-stimulation spaces

  • Weekly wellbeing check-ins

  • Small group sessions on emotional literacy, anxiety, and self-awareness

All staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, autism, ADHD, and attachment awareness.

The Thrive Mentoring Model

Older students (Years 7–11) act as trained mentors for younger pupils in structured, supervised roles. This cross-age mentoring promotes:

  • Empathy and responsibility in older learners

  • Confidence and connection for younger pupils

  • A culture of mutual respect and peer support

It’s unique, and it works — creating meaningful relationships and personal growth for everyone involved.

Family Support and Partnership

We work closely with families to support consistency between home and school. This includes:

  • Weekly contact with Thrive staff

  • Behaviour coaching and home strategies

  • Monthly family workshops (e.g. boundaries, sleep, communication)

  • Joint target setting and regular progress reviews

We believe parents are our partners, not bystanders.

  • Be experiencing school-based anxiety or trauma
